Hurry up. December end soon.
In fact in the next few hours – Happy New Year. We will miss our December 2012 target but the application is looking great and we still expect to release very soon. Keep checking back for the latest news.
Screenshot looks great That was quite a trek!
Way to go !!
Great, waiting for it since my last ski-holidays. In march we want to ski again (with ski tracks?)
Having switched from iphone to android over the summer I can’t face the ski season without this app. I’ve already had to have 2 days skiing without it and I have no idea how far we skied! I’ll be checking back daily.
hitting the slopes on the 15th … won’t be the same if it’s without ski tracks! understand how hard it is to get everything tested so fingers crossed it’s released in time!
Don’t worry Marcus we will have Ski Tracks for Android in your hands before you go skiing.
This is so awesome, i was using the iphone version last season and absolutely loved it. Now i have a android and was so bummed, that there was no app this good. I am so happy about this. Great
any date for the release version yet?
even a beta might be interesting
Do you need volunteers to beta test this? Can’t wait to get it!
Ski tracks for iphone is awesome but my wife does not let me steal her iphone lately. Need the app for android please. Can we get on a notification service for when it come out for Android?
Last season I had an Iphone and used Ski Tracks for all my outings. Now I’ve changed phones and cannot wait for the Android version! Skied yesterday using the A*****R**** app as a temp substitute, and it’s not nearly as good as Ski Tracks!! Thank you Core Coders for the effort in getting this out soon!
I’ve been checking back everyday since the start of 2013. There is only 5 days left before I am on the slopes. I know you will be doing your best and it will be great when finally released. Here’s hoping it’s this week. I’d hate to be on the slopes without it.
Love your App! I’m heading out in a few days and can’t wait. Hope it’s released soon!
I keep checking every day to see if the application will be released soon. I am leaving for a ski trip to Austria in 9 days and would love to be able to use this application while over there. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Can’t wait to get my tracks back now that I switched to Android…
I kept my sim-less iphone just for that app!!! Next time I am out on the slopes, I will keep both to watch the discrepancies
We have been testing the apps side by side and they have been pretty close. Using an iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3. Ski Tracks is now available on Android.
This is the best Ski tracker app around used on several ski trips last year – But I’ve switched from iPhone to Galaxy Note2 and I’m going skiing next Saturday (19th Jan) PLEASE PLEASE release Android version before then! I can’t live/ski without it!
Ski Tracks is on Android
Its now available – hope you enjoy it Paul.
I downloaded ski tracks, everything works fine but when every time i want to change my settings the application stops on my samsung galaxy s3 ? What i have to do , i can’t change my settings.
Hi Karl, This is known fault for some phones – we have an update v1.0.1 coming out tomorrow that will fix this issue. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Thanks Steve, it’s been painful using the other apps available until your’s was done. This was the only reason I missed my iPhone. Looking forward to trying it this week. Just wish I’d had it for the previous 15 days on snow this year.
We tried very hard to get Ski Tracks ready for the start of the season but unfortunately it was not possible. Hope you enjoy it.
Where can I find it? Please post a link
Hi Miha, you can download Ski Tracks for Android from here
Thanks guys, really glad you did this! I hope it is as successful for you as it was on IOS.
By the way, it may just be me but I couldn’t get to the play store via the link on this page.
Nice to have your icon on my phone again though
Got it! Had to dig in the play store to find it.
Keeps crashing on my Note 2 whenever I want to go into settings though…
Crashes on settings for me too. I have a rooted S3, with a non-stock kernel and ROM though which may have a bearing on that but I don’t think so. Default settings seem ok though.
Thanks for your feedback.
This is a known issue and we are looking into it.
An update will be with you as soon as possible.
Used Ski Tracks on my Motorola Razri today and it gave a lot of information which was interesting to see. However it seemed to to go to altitudes far lower than I was when I stropped in a restaurant for lunch, this may have given a reading for vertical metres skied grater than I actually did!
Hi Roger,
This is most likely due to a lack of a GPS fix on your device whilst you were inside the building. We do run the data through various filters, however sometimes when the device is struggling to get a fix it can cause issues with the metrics. My advice for the future is to pause your recording whilst you have lunch and then resume it afterwards.
I hope this resolves your issue. Any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.
Will we have an android user guide for this soon?
Thanks for getting it out in time for the rest of the season, had been waiting with bated breath!.
Hi Ian,
An Android User Guide will most certainly be available in the future. For now however, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Enjoy the rest of your season.
This app looks very nice.
Bugs encountered:
Settings crash
Unable to export tracks to sd card
Is a track replay possible like on iphone?
My device : note 2
Thanks for your feedback.
These bugs will be fixed in an update being released today. Track replay is a feature coming in the future.
Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
New update fixes the issues I had. Thanks for that. I personally look forward to the track replay more than the whole Facebook thing but I can live without it for a while:)
Thanks again for the update.
Hi,
I’m off skiing on Saturday (!)
Is there any way to cache the map images so that I can see a satellite or vector map of the ski area without having to have an internet connection? (Does that already happen?)
Also, on the map view at the right hand side there are a couple of icons that I’m not sure what they do – they look like stopwatches..?
Look forward to trying this out!
Rich
ps – does anyone have an estimate for how long this will last on an S3 with full charge?
Hi Rich,
The maps are already being cached so before you go out and whilst you have a wifi connection just view around the area and it will cache the maps for you.
The tools on the right hand side of the map in descending order are:
1. Distance Tabs – Display either 1 KM or 1 Mile segment tabs (depending on preferred unit type).
2. Time Tabs – Display tabs where you were on each hour of the day.
3. Duration Tabs – Display markers on your location every 15minutes for the duration of your track.
In terms of battery life, we were actually using an S3 for testing and found that it easily handled a full 7 hour day of skiing with plenty of battery to spare. Depending on other factors such as background apps and battery condition you should have no problem with battery life.
I hope this clarifies some issues. A User Guide will be coming out very soon. Any more questions please do not hesitate to ask.
Have a good time skiing.
Thanks for the ski tracks android user guide.
Will ski tracks for android work with an external bluetooth GPS receiver?
